Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium is extra funding for schools, in addition to the main budget. Allocation is based on:
- the number of pupils eligible for free school meals (FSM),
- a smaller allocation for children of service families, and
- an allocation for each pupil who has been Looked After for six months or more.
Since 2012, funding has also covered pupils who have been eligible for FSM at any point in the past six years.
Schools decide how to spend Pupil Premium because they are best placed to determine the additional support individual pupils need. They are accountable for how the funds are used to support pupils.
Below you can view how the Pupil Premium was spent in the last financial year, the impact of this funding, and plans for future spending.
